Posted On: Wednesday, August 23, 2017

On Monday, August 21, 2017, CHES students and staff witnessed the solar eclipse. Not only was this a fun activity for our students, it was very educational and historical. Our classes discussed beforehand what a solar eclipse is and most classes watched videos of previous events. On Monday, many of our classes, armed with their approved solar eclipse glasses, went outside and watched the sky for the sun to disappear. Several parents joined in the fun also. The kindergarten classes watched the eclipse live stream on the internet in their classrooms. Some of our students even travelled to Nashville with their family to witness the totality of the eclipse. It was an awesome learning experience for the young and the old! Where will you be in 2024 for the next eclipse to cross part of the United States?
