As the Chief Academic Officer of Middle/High Schools, I support administrators and teachers to ensure the highest level of opportunity and growth for students in grades 6th-12th.  DCS is now the largest district in Mississippi.

We are dedicated to providing a curriculum which best supports students as they grow as learners.  As we move toward implementation of the MS College & Career Readiness standards in our middle and high schools, we look to focus on college and career readiness across all content areas to prepare our students for the rigors of a competitive work force and of higher education.

In addition to a focus on academics, our middle and schools provide a myriad of extra-curricular activities and opportunities to help students grow as collaborators and leaders.  We are dedicated to helping each student be the best that he or she can be.

I welcome you to DeSoto County Schools.  Please contact me if I can be of assistance and be sure to visit all of our links on the right side and at the bottom of this page for more information on our programs and instructional practices.

Sincerely,

Jeff Gilder,
Chief Academic Officer of Middle/High Schools
