Chickasaw Elementary School has a current enrollment of approximately 570 students with eleven second grade classes and ten third grade classes. There are thirty-two certified staff members. Special areas offered are library, guidance, music, speech, special education, gifted education, computer, and physical education activities. Each classroom has three computers that are used for the Accelerated Reader (AR) program as well as for instructional enrichment and reinforcement. The library also has thirteen computers that are used for the AR program. The computer lab has twenty-seven computers with a curriculum designed to teach students keyboarding skills, Internet research skills, as well as games that remediate and enrich skills taught in the classroom. Chickasaw Elementary School excels in academic achievement and is proud of their parental involvement. The PTO offers numerous activities to keep the parents involved in their children’s education such as the Citizenship Workshop, Honor’s Program, Children’s Book Week, Red Ribbon Week, Grandparent’s Day, Santa’s Workshop, PTO Membership Drive, Teacher Appreciation Week, and two fund-raisers during the school year.
