I am grateful you have chosen to look at our website.  By doing so, it shows your concern and interest in our school. We welcome any input and support you are willing to give to our teachers and students.  Our teachers and administrators are working diligently each day to provide quality instruction in a safe and orderly environment in which all children can learn. This is our main goal each day as we strive for "Excellence in Education."

Horn Lake High School has an accreditation level of 4 in the state of Mississippi.  Level 4 is considered exemplary in our state.  Furthermore, HLHS meets all of the standards under the federal mandate of No Child Left Behind.  This means we are serving and meeting the needs of every student regardless of his or her race, economic status, or learning ability.

We have a great school system in Desoto County.  We have a great high school in Horn Lake.  I am very grateful to have the privilege to work with such a fine group of administrators, teachers, and students.  It is my desire for HLHS to be a safe harbor and a place of encouragement.  I desire for every child to be challenged to his or her fullest potential every day in the classroom.  Education far exceeds HLHS.  I want each student to be well-rounded and prepared to take on any challenge he or she may face in his or her life.  I desire for every child to be able to pursue his or her educational goals and eventually his or her dream job upon completion of high school.  I believe there are no finer young people anywhere in America.  I want our students to help change our community, state, country, and world for the better.  Please join our effort by lending your input, support, encouragement, and prayers for our school and community.  I am grateful for them all.

Sincerely,
Jim Ferguson
