Chickasaw Elementary School has a current enrollment of approximately 590 students with twelve second grade classes and eleven third grade classes. There are thirty-four certified staff members. Special areas offered are library, guidance, music, speech, special education, gifted education, computer, and physical education activities.

Each classroom has three to five computers that are used for the Accelerated Reader (AR) program as well as for instructional enrichment and reinforcement. In addition, by the 2011-2012 school year, each second and third grade classroom will have an interactive white board which will serve as an instructional strategy for students who benefit from repetition, who need to see the material presented again, for students who are absent from school, for struggling learners, etc. The library also has thirteen computers that are used for the AR program. The two computer labs have twenty-seven computers each to enrich and remediate skills taught in the classroom using Classworks Computer Program and/or various educational websites and to teach basic computer techniques such as keyboarding, cut/paste, and creating documents.

Chickasaw Elementary School excels in academic achievement and is proud of their parental involvement. The PTO offers numerous activities to keep the parents involved in their children’s education such as the Citizenship Workshop, Honor’s Program, Children’s Book Week, Grandparent’s Day, Santa’s Workshop, PTO Membership Drive, Teacher Appreciation Week, and two fund-raisers during the school year.
