  Get your running shoes on – 94 programs for children, teens and adults!  The theme this year is Dream Big, Read.  We have a terrific “outside of the box” program incorporating the night/knight theme.  We’ll be making knight helmets and damsel hats and wearing them to our Knights in Shining Armor program on June 27.

You are invited to a Book Launch Party!  Friends of the Horn Lake Library host the event on Wednesday, May 24 from 4:00-6:00 at the Library at 2885 Goodman Road, Horn Lake.  Meet Civil War author J.D.R. (Julie) Hawkins as she introduces her latest novel, A Beautiful Glittering Lie, second in a planned four book series featuring the North Alabama Summers family as they cope with honor, loss & love during the turbulent 1860’s.

J.D.R. Hawkins’ first book, A Beckoning Hellfire, earned her the prestigious Publisher’s & Editor’s Choice awards.  A Beautiful Glittering Lie has already garnered the author the Editor’s Choice award.  Civil War discussions, book signings, prize drawing and refreshments are planned.

J.D.R. Hawkins is available for book talks, interviews & public appearances to share her extensive knowledge of the Civil War.
