It's a great day to be a Jaguar!
- The instructions for Parent Portal are posted on the front page of our school website.
- The easiest way for the parents' voice to be heard regarding state budget issues is through the Parents' Campaign. They ensure quality education for every child in Mississippi. Parents can sign up for emails from Parents' Campaign through our school district website, www.desotocountyschools.org.
- Car riders exit their vehicles on the south side of DCHS in the mornings, and car riders enter the building through the gym lobby. The doors are opened each morning at 7:50. In the afternoons, all car riders and walkers exit the building through the gym lobby. Car riders are picked up on the south side of the building near the student parking lot.
- We have new regulations that we must enforce regarding student checkouts this school year. Parents will need to email or fax their checkout requests to our school. Parents can email our attendance clerk, Robin Sayle, at robin.sayle@desotocountyschools.org, or parents can fax the requests to Ms. Sayle at 662-536-3621.
- DeSoto Central High School has been designated as a Star School by the Mississippi Department of Education. This is the highest recognition that a school can receive, and it is based upon test scores, student academic growth, and graduation rate. The Mississippi Department of Education began this accreditation system in 2009, and only 11 high schools (including DeSoto Central High School) have received this honor in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
- The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2012 will be held on May 22nd at 7:00 pm at the DeSoto Civic Center.
- Students must buy a decal in order to drive on campus. The cost of the decal is $5.
- You can follow DeSoto Central High School on Twitter at dchsjaguars.
- I would like to encourage everyone to visit our school district's website at www.desotocountyschools.org. By viewing this website, you can get updates regarding board policy changes and school district events.
- Our students received their fall SATP score reports from Algebra I, Biology I, and English II on March 22nd. If a student did not receive a score report, he/she needs to see his/her counselor as soon as possible. We will receive the US History scores in August or September.
- Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be able to pick up their report cards Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Seniors will receive their report cards in their diploma packet after the graduation ceremony.
- Students received progress reports on April 18th.
