(Students receive 2 excused college days per semester. Prior to visit pick up college day forms in the attendance office, submit completed form, wait for approval, take form with you to have college official sign, and return form to attendance after visit.) PLAN AHEAD!

___Register with NCAA at www.eligibilitycenter.org if I plan on playing a Division I or II sport   

      as a college freshman.  For more information and a list of sports requiring NCAA approval visit

___ January Parents get tax papers ready and File the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student

      Aide)  www.fafsa.ed.gov

 

___ Senior Night for College Readiness & FAFSA Workshop to be announced.  Financial

       Aid representatives will explain the FAFSA process and help you apply for a pin.  They will  

       also help to complete the FAFSA online that day if you 1) have already applied for yours and

       your parents pin and 2) bring the FAFSA worksheet completed (worksheet can be found at

       http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/fafsaws01c.pdf

 

___ Apply for MTAG or MESG scholarship at the Mississippi Institutions of Higher

       Learning website: http://www.ihl.state.ms.us/financialaid  MTAG is for students who score a  

      15 and above on their ACT and are attending a college in MS.  MESG is for students who score

      a 29 and above on their ACT and are attending a college in MS. 

      (Counselors will have already submitted your GPAs to them)

 

___ March Look for Student Aid Report (SAR) in the mail/email & submit to financial aid office

 

___ April Fill out senior exit form requesting final transcripts sent to college you will be attending

 

___ Receive letters of acceptance and review all packages carefully

 

___ Notify colleges of your decision
