Meet Our Principals

I am delighted to be the Principal at Greenbrook  Elementary! I embraced this role after having been a classroom teacher for 19 years and an assistant principal for 5 years.

I was a part of Desoto County Schools as a first grade  teacher at Horn Lake Elementary School for 18 years after  relocating to Mississippi from Arkansas. I came to Greenbrook as an assistant principal in 2006-2007 where my fellow administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community all made me a part of the Greenbrook Elementary School family.

The real "teachers" of my life, who profoundly influenced  my choice of ethical and moral decision making, set a good example by the way they lived their lives and how they treated me. Knowing that kindness and a good example are keys to character development, I am committed to being a role model for the students of GES by constantly demonstrating the importance I place on professional and personal ethics.

One of the challenging goals facing educators today is to ensure that all students achieve at high levels.  I believe that given the right conditions and support, almost everyone can achieve at high levels. Therefore, I pledge to work with my colleagues to set high expectations and challenging targets for all students at GES. We want our school to be a place where children want to spend their time, where they anticipate and experience the wonder of learning, and where they leave with a desire to return again and again.

Greenbrook Elementary School is a caring community committed to meeting students' individual needs by actively engaging them in optimal learning experiences.  I am proud to be a part of such a great school.

I am so excited to be a part of Greenbrook Elementary School.  I look forward to working with the fabulous teachers and all the eager students here as we transition to our new Common Core standards in DeSoto County.  I love the opportunity this provides to help establish a true love of learning in our students.

This is a new adventure for me.  I have spent the last five years as an assistant principal at a high school in DeSoto County.  However, my undergraduate degree from Union University was in elementary education and I am excited to be back in that area.  This is my 17th year as an educator and I have worked in a vast number of settings at every level from kindergarten to college.

I am originally from rural West Tennessee, where I grew up on a farm.  My husband and I moved to Mississippi thirteen years ago.  He is also a school administrator and we have one son.  He is a second grader.  I am so happy to be working with kids just his age.  We have one other very mischievous member of our family, Buster, the dog.

I am so anxious to get this year started.  We have a wonderful tradition of excellence here at Greenbrook.  Our teachers and staff are remarkable and so devoted to helping their children be successful.  I know our students are ready to tackle the new more rigorous standards and will come with the full support of their parents.  Together we can help our student reach their dreams.  Go Little Chargers!
