Graduates of Distinction

Per Desoto County Board of Education Change:

Desoto County no longer has Honor Graduates; high achieving graduates are now classified as "Graduates of Distinction" or "Graduates of Special Distinction."

Graduates of either classification must be taking the regular curriculum including three higher maths and sciences.  Students should see their guidance counselor for more information regarding the higher-level math and science requirements.

A "Graduate of Distinction" must have an overall weighted numerical average of 90-94 for seven semesters. The student must meet the twenty-four (24) credit graduation requirement.

A "Graduate of Special Distinction" must have an overall weighted numerical average of 95 or higher for seven semesters. The student must meet the twenty-four (24) credit graduation requirement.

*If a student chooses to opt out of the twenty-four credit graduation requirement, the student will not be able to graduate as a "Graduate of Distinction" or "Graduate of Special Distinction."
