Student Parking

The operation of a motor vehicle by students is a privilege afforded students enrolled in Horn Lake High School.  Vehicles on the campus must be operated in a safe manner, and all rules and regulations concerning the operation of the vehicle must be followed.

Rules:

  1. Cars must be parked in their designated area.  Students are absolutely not allowed to park in the front parking lot that is reserved for faculty members and visitors.  If a student arrives to school after the 7:25 bell, the student must park in the west parking lot and walk to the front entrance.
  2. They must have a decal hang tag displayed from the rear view mirror.
  3. No loitering will be allowed in the parking lot.  Once on campus, students are to park and lock their cars and then immediately enter the building.
  4. Reckless driving on campus and adjacent streets will result in driving privileges being revoked.
  5. Ninth graders will not be allowed to drive to school.
  6. Anyone parking on campus without a permit, in a restricted area, driving recklessly on campus, driving to vo-tech, or using his / her vehicle to skip school or aid another student in skipping school will receive disciplinary action.  These offenses can result in lunch detention, community service, in-school suspension, home suspension, out-of-school, and / or loss of driving privileges.
  7. Repeated tardiness to first period by drivers can result in loss of driving privilege.
