HLMS Title Program
TITLE I SCHOOL-WIDE PLAN
2011-2012
The purpose of Federal Programs is to provide opportunities that will enhance student's educational endeavor beginning as early as pre-kindergarten.
There are four federal programs utilized in our school:
-
TITLE I, PART A BASIC
-
TITLE II, PART A: Quality Teachers and Administrators
-
TITLE III: Support for English Language Learners
-
TITLE IV, PART A: Safe and Drug-Free School Program
For the 2011-2012, Horn Lake Middle School will utilize Title I funds to increase student achievement in the areas of reading/language arts and mathematics. These funds create an unprecedented opportunity for educators to implement innovative strategies in Title I schools that improve education for at-risk students and close the achievement gaps while also stimulating the economy. The additional resources will enable our school to serve more students and boost the quality of teaching and learning.
Our Title I allocation for the 2011-2012 school year is $254,034.
Our Title I Parental Involvement allocation for the 2011-2012 school year is $4,390.
The goal of the Title I program is to enable administrators, teachers, parents, and students to work together to maximize student achievement. At Horn Lake Middle School we view family and community involvement as important and necessary for a greater impact on our students.
The Title I Program at Horn Lake Middle Shool is a school-wide program, serving all of the students through specific action steps. As a result, input from parents, faculty, staff, and students are solicited in all aspects of planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating of the program. Through our Parent Involvement Committee, periodic meetings are held to review the goals of the school-wide plan. Parents and teachers are offered opportunities to provide insight and suggestions for improving our plan and parental involvement.
