Congratulations Mr. Marble and the 08-09 DECA chapter!!!  Our chapter entered 26 students during their competition in Jackson. Out of the 26 competing, our chapter had 23 students place in the top 6 overall state and 19 of these were in the top 3 for the whole state! The top 3 winners now advance to national competition in California in April to represent our school and state on the national level.  

Mississippi DECA web page gives the following description of DECA.

DECA a national association of marketing education students, provides teachers and members with educational and leadership development activities to merge with the education classroom instructional program.

  • DECA is not extracurricular; it is an integral part of the classroom instructional program.
  • DECA chapters attract students who are interested in preparing for entrepreneurial, marketing, or management careers.
  • DECA helps students develop skills and competence for marketing careers, build self-esteem, experience leadership, and practice community service.
  • DECA is committed to the advocacy of marketing education and the growth of business and education partnerships.

Mission
The mission of DECA is to enhance the
