S.T.A.R. - Standardized Test for Assessment of Reading
|
About Accelerated Reader Program - Accelerated Reader Program is a computer based, reading management and motivational system designed to complement existing classroom literacy programs for grades K-12. AR's goal is to motivate students to read using an individualized goal/point system. After our students complete the STAR test, AR translates their grade equivalency into a range that is used to determine the level of books from which the students can select.
Books in the Accelerated Reader Program are marked with a colored label on the spine. The label lists the book's title, author, book/grade level, and point value.
About STAR Reading Program - STAR Reading assesses students' reading progress in a fast, accurate, and easy manner. It helps our teachers determine the reading/grade level of each student, measure individual and class growth, and forecast results on standardized tests. Students can usually complete the computer-adaptive assessment in less than ten minutes. We get accurate, reliable, norm-referenced scores immediately. Once the results of the students' reading grade levels have been established, we can more accurately guide them towards books they will comprehend and enjoy.
