Lisa Love, Principal
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to Overpark Elementary School! The faculty and I would like to thank each of you for letting us be a part of your child's educational journey! We believe that our children are our most precious resources and gifts. Our goal is to nurture your child as we provide excellent, safe learning opportunities that will continue to build upon your child's educational experiences. Our students will have the chance to learn, explore, and achieve under the direction of highly qualified and dedicated teachers.
These devoted educators have high expectations for all our students! We want to develop the whole child by offering physical education, music, computer, discipline, respect for self and others, and character development. Our staff includes one principal, one assistant principal, four office clerks, one guidance counselor, one school nurse, one librarian, one music teacher, one PE teacher and assistant, one computer assistant, six kindergarten teachers with six assistants, five first grade teachers with five assistants, five second grade teachers with two assistants, five third grade teachers, five fourth grade teachers, four fifth grade teachers, six special educational teachers with five assistants, two full-time speech pathologists, one gifted teacher, one cafeteria manager with five cafeteria workers, one head of maintenance with one housekeeper, and a cleaning crew that works in the evenings.
Our first bell for school will ring at 8:25, and the tardy bell will ring at 8:30. Our dismissal procedures are as follows: K-2 students will be dismissed at 3:20; and 3-5 students will be dismissed at 3:25. In order for your child to get the best benefit from his/her education, he/she needs to be on time for school each day, and check outs need to be at a minimum and of importance. We will be conducting Book Bunches from 2:35-3:15 each day. We ask that you do notcheck your child out after 2:35 so that he/she will not miss this fabulous experience!
We encourage you to join our PTO and become an active participant in our numerous activities/opportunities to volunteer toward contributing to your child's education. All of our classrooms will need a room mom or dad as well as parent volunteers throughout the year for various activities or projects. We welcome PARENTAL HELP and SUPPORT at OES!
We are here to serve our students, parents, and community to the best of our abilities. Our doors are always open. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call for a conference, leave a message, or send an email to lisa.love@desotocountyschools.org. The faculty and I anticipate a successful, productive year, and look forward to working with you and your family!
Sincerely,
Lisa Love, Principal
