Counselor's Corner
Mrs. Angie Couch
Counselor
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master of Arts degree in English from Mississippi State University, and a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Mississippi. I taught eighth grade English for 12 years on the Oak Grove campus when it was still known as Hernando Middle School and have been the school counselor at Oak Grove Central since 1992.
I am a member of the Mississippi Counseling Association (MCA), the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC), and the Mississippi Association for Gifted Children (MAGC).
In addition to my duties as a school counselor, I also serve as Oak Grove Central's school test coordinator for statewide testing and monitor one of the school's computer labs during fifth grade Special Activity Time each day.
My goal as a school counselor is to assist the teachers in meeting the academic, emotional, and social needs of each child at OGCE. Please feel free to contact me to schedule a conference with your child's teachers or to discuss concerns you have about your child. My e-mail address is angie.couch@desotocountyschools.org, and my phone number is 662-429-4180, extension 228.
