OUR ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS:

CHRISTY JOHNSTON

I am very excited to be an assistant principal at Southaven Intermediate School! Before becoming an AP, I worked at Oak Grove Central as a 5th grade teacher. I also have had the opportunity to work as a Literacy Coach and Title I teacher.

I am a native of Batesville, and earned my bachelor's, master's, and specialist degrees from the University of Mississippi. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling,  cooking, and cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels.

LAWANDA WALLACE

I am an Alabama native. However, I have lived in Hernando, MS for over 20 years.
With gratitude, I take the opportunity to serve the students, faculty, staff and parents
of SIS as an assistant principal.  It is truly my privilege and I look forward to having
a great year with you.  Prior to assisting at SIS I enjoyed teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th
grade at Hernando Middle School.  My duties also included coaching basketball and
volleyball  for 10 years.

I obtained my bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Mississippi and
master's degree from Cambridge College.  Ensuring student safety and holistic achievement
are my number one priorities.
