About the School

The DeSoto County School District is proud to have a special education program designed to help struggling students strengthen themselves socially, emotionally and behaviorally so they can return and be successful in their general education settings.

Students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP), who meet certain criteria, can participate in the program which focuses on teaching students replacement behaviors and coping skills all while continuing to move forward with the educational curriculum.

Each classroom at Magnolia has a special education teacher and a teacher assistant.  Daily support of a behavior interventionist and school administration is also an integral part of the program’s success. Partnerships with outside mental health agencies, such as Region IV Mental Health Services, rounds out the team.
