Center Hill Elementary School grants wish
Adults are not the only ones who know to sing "ba, ba, ba" and "so good, so good" when they sing Neil Diamond's, "Sweet Caroline." Children know it, too. Center Hill Elementary School students did just that when they granted a wish to a four-year-old girl named Caroline last week.
This year, Center Hill Elementary School raised $10,619.96 while working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant Caroline's wish. Caroline likes creatures that live in water, especially sharks. Center Hill Elementary's generosity will enable this wish to become a reality. Caroline will visit the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.
This is not the first time Center Hill Elementary School has granted a wish, nor will it be the last. It is part of their school's heriitage and tradition. During the course of a week in the fall, students bring pennies on Monday, nickels on Tuesday, dimes on Wednesday, quarters on Thursday, and dollars on Friday. The students then count and bag all the money to go to Make-A-Wish.
Center Hill Elementary School has raised over $100,000 and granted 17 wishes since 2003.
